Kelby Krabbenhoft

President and Chief Executive Officer

As chief executive officer, Kelby Krabbenhoft is responsible for the overall vision and direction of Sanford Health-MeritCare. He has served as president and chief executive officer of Sanford Health since 1996. During his tenure, he led dynamic growth and development throughout the health system and established the vision for T. Denny Sanford’s $400 million gift, making possible the implementation of Sanford Initiatives involving global children’s clinics, multiple research centers and finding a cure for type 1 Diabetes.



Dave Link

Senior Executive Vice President

Dave Link, senior executive vice president, is responsible for corporate development and research including Sanford Initiatives, Health Plan, Foundations, and Information Technology. Dave started his career at Sanford Health in 1983 as director of data processing. He most recently served as executive vice president of Sanford Health since 1997.


Becky Nelson

Senior Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer

Becky Nelson, senior vice president and chief operating officer, is responsible for clinic, medical center and network operations for the northern and southern regions of Sanford Health-MeritCare. She will also have accountability for human resources and learning services. Becky joined Sanford USD Medical Center in 1975 as a critical care nurse and has held numerous leadership roles, including president of Sanford USD Medical Center and senior vice president and chief operating officer of Sanford Health.


Dr. Roger Gilbertson

President Emeritus

Roger Gilbertson, M.D., has served as president and chief executive officer of MeritCare Health System for the past 17 years, from its inception in 1993 until his retirement in November 2009. Prior to that he was a practicing neuroradiologist for 30 years. He will be involved in several transition activities including public policy and community, regional and national relationships.


Andrew Richburg

Executive Vice President

Andrew Richburg, executive vice president, is responsible for planning, marketing, corporate communications and public affairs. He joined MeritCare as executive vice president of strategy management in 2006. He previously served as a practice lead for Eide Bailly and Align Performance Consulting and held leadership positions at brand management and pharmaceutical returns companies.


Lisa Carlson

Chief Financial Officer

Lisa Carlson is chief financial officer for Sanford Health-MeritCare. She began her career as controller for Fargo Clinic MeritCare in 1987 and has worked in numerous financial positions prior to becoming MeritCare's chief financial officer in 2003.


Bill Marlette

Treasurer

Bill Marlette, treasurer, is responsible for investments and asset management and financing. He joined Sanford Medical Center in 1989 as director of finance, accepted the responsibilities as vice president of finance in 1997 and assumed his current position as chief financial officer for Sanford Health in 2004. 


Paul Richard

Chief Legal Officer

As chief legal officer, Paul Richard is responsible for legal affairs, public policy, compliance, risk management and insurance. Paul began his career as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital and worked at Serkland Law Firm in Fargo for 20 years prior to joining MeritCare as general legal counsel in 1998. He was named executive vice president administration and chief legal counsel in 2006.


 

Sanford Health-MeritCare Board of Trustees

Seven members chosen from the MeritCare Board of Trustees and seven members chosen from the Sanford Board of Trustees will join together to form the corporate Sanford Health-MeritCare Board of Trustees. They will continue to be community and physician members representing the service areas served by both MeritCare and Sanford.
